AND WHEREAS, the said term of one year of the administrator appointed

under sub­section (1) of section 33 of the said Act to manage the affairs of the

Kunnathur Taluk Residence Welfare Co­operative Society Limited No.Q.1513 in

Kollam District expired on 12^th November, 2018;

AND WHEREAS,  under sub­section (1A) of section 33 of the said Act the

Government may, by notification in the Gazette, for reasons to be recorded,

permit   the   Registrar   of   Co­operative   Societies   to   extend   the   term   of   the

administrator or  administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of a

society for a further period not exceeding one year in the aggregate or till a

newly elected committee  enters upon office, whichever is earlier;

AND  WHEREAS,  the term of the administrator of the said society was

extended for a further period of six months from 13^th November, 2018 to 12^th

May, 2019 in pursuance of notification issued under G.O(P)No.14/2020/Co­op.

dated 24^th  February, 2020 and published as S.R.O No.172/2020 in the Kerala

Gazette Extraordinary No.765 dated 5^th March, 2020, and the term was further

extended for  a period of two years from 13^th May, 2019 to 12^th May, 2021 in

pursuance   of   notification   issued  under   G.O(P)No.36/2021/Co­op.   dated   16^th

February, 2021  and  published as S.R.O No.196/2021 in the Kerala  Gazette

Extraordinary   No.806   dated   18^th  February,   2021   and   the   term   was   further

extended for a period of two years from 13^th  May, 2021 to 12^th  May, 2023 in

pursuance of notification issued under G.O(P)No.177/2021/Co­op. dated 24^th

November, 2021 and published as S.R.O No.896/2021 in the Kerala Gazette

Extraordinary No.3529 dated 1^st  December, 2021 and the period so extended

also expired on 12^th May, 2023;

 AND WHEREAS, the Registrar of Co­operative Societies has reported that

the election to the Board of Directors of the said society could not be conducted

within the extended period and has requested to permit him to extend the term

of the administrator of the said society for a further period of two years from 13^th

May, 2023 to 12^th  May, 2025 or till a newly elected committee enters upon

office, whichever is earlier, to avoid administrative vacuum in the said society;

AND WHEREAS, the Government have examined the matter in detail and

are satisfied that it is necessary, in public interest, to direct that the provisions of

sub­section (1A) of section 33 of the said Act shall apply to the said society with

certain modifications and to   permit the Registrar of Co­operative Societies to

extend the term of the administrator appointed to mange the affairs of the said

society for a further period of two years from 13^th May, 2023 to 12^th May, 2025

or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier;

NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 101 of

the Kerala Co­operative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), the Government of

Kerala hereby direct that the provisions of sub­section (1A) of section 33 of the

said Act shall apply to the Kunnathur Taluk Residence Welfare Co­operative

Society   Limited   No.Q.1513   in   Kollam   District   with   the   modification   of

substituting the words “six years and six months” for the words “one year” and in

exercise of the powers under sub­section (1A) of section 33 of the said Act, as so

modified, permit the Registrar of Co­operative Societies to extend the term of the

administrator appointed to manage the affairs of the said society for a further

period of two years from 13^th May, 2023 to 12^th May, 2025 or till a newly elected

committee   enters   upon   office,   whichever   is   earlier,   to   avoid   administrative

vacuum in the said society.

 The term of the administrator appointed under sub­section (1) of section

33 of the Kerala Co­operative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), to manage the

affairs of the Kunnathur Taluk Residence Welfare Co­operative Society Limited

Extraordinary No.765 dated 5^th March, 2020, and the term was further extended

for  a period of two years from 13^th May, 2019 to 12^th May, 2021 in pursuance of

notification issued under G.O(P)No.36/2021/Co­op. dated 16^th  February, 2021

and published as S.R.O No.196/2021 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.806

dated 18^th February, 2021 and the term was further extended for a period of two

years from 13^th May, 2021 to 12^th May, 2023 in pursuance of notification issued

under G.O(P)No.177/2021/Co­op. dated 24^th  November, 2021 and published as

S.R.O   No.896/2021   in   the   Kerala   Gazette   Extraordinary   No.3529   dated   1^st

December, 2021 and the period so extended also expired on 12^th May, 2023. The

Registrar of Co­operative Societies has reported that the election to the Board of

Directors of the said society could not be conducted within extended period and

has requested to extend the term of the administrator for a further period of two

years from  13^th  May, 2023 to 12^th  May, 2025  to avoid administrative vacuum.

The Government have examined the matter in detail and are satisfied that it is

necessary, in public interest to permit the Registrar of Co­operative Societies to

extend the term of the administrator of the said society for a further period of

two   years   from  13^th  May,   2023   to   12^th  May,   2025  or   till   a   newly   elected

committee   enters   upon   office,   whichever   is   earlier,   to   avoid   administrative

vacuum in the said society.

This order is intended to achieve the above object.
