rules further to amend the Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishment Rules, 1961, namely:-

RULES

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Kerala Shops and

Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

(2) They shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of the Rules.- In the Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments Rules, 1961,

for the words “Labour Commissionerate Automated System”, wherever they occur, the words “Labour

Commissionerate Automation System” shall be substituted.

Explanatory Note

(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general

purport.)

The Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1960 (34 of 1960) was amended by the

Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2021 (20 of 2021). Now, the

Government have decided to amend the Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments Rules, 1961

suitably in accordance with the above said amendment after having published the draft rules calling for

objections and suggestions as per notification No. LBRD-E3/16/2022/LBRD dated 4^th July, 2023

published in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.2223 dated 5^th July, 2023.

The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
