WHEREAS, under subsection (1) of section 33 of the Kerala Cooperative
Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), the term of an administrator or an administrative
committee appointed to manage the affairs of a society shall not exceed one year in the
aggregate;

AND WHEREAS, the said term of one year of the administrative committee
appointed under subsection (1) of section 33 of the said Act, to manage the affairs of
the Ernakulam District Milma Employees Cooperative Society Limited No. E.382 in
Ernakulam District expired on 17th July, 2023;
AND WHEREAS, under subsection (1A) of section 33 of the said Act, the
Government may, by notification in the Gazette, for reasons to be recorded, permit the
Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the administrator or
administrative committee for a further period not exceeding one year in the aggregate
or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier;
AND WHEREAS, the term of the administrative committee of the said Society was
extended for a further period of one year from 18th July, 2023 to 17th July, 2024 in
pursuance of Notification issued under G.O.(P) No.92/2024 Coop dated 03rd June,
2024 and published as S.R.O. No. 492/2024 in the Kerala Gazette Extra ordinary
No.1782 dated 05th June, 2024 and the period so extended also expired on 05th June,
2024;
AND WHEREAS, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies has reported that the
election to the Board of Directors of the said society could not be conducted within the
above said period and has requested to extend the term of the administrative
committee for a further period of one year from 18th July, 2024 to 17th July, 2025 or
till a newly elected committee enters upon office whichever is earlier, to avoid
administrative vacuum in the said society;
AND WHEREAS, the Government have considered the matter in detail and are
satisfied that it is necessary, in public interest to direct that the provisions of sub
section (1A) of section 33 of the said Act shall apply to the said society with certain
modification and to permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of

the administrative committee appointed to manage the affairs of the said society for a
further period of one year from 18th July, 2024 to 17th July, 2025 or till a newly
elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier ;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 101 of the
Kerala Cooperative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), the Government of Kerala here
by direct that the provisions of subsection (1A) of Section 33 of the said Act shall apply
to the Ernakulam District Milma Employees Cooperative Society Limited No. E.382 in
Ernakulam District with the modification of substituting the words ‘two years’ for the
words ‘one year’ and in exercise of the powers under subsection (1A) of section 33 of
the said Act, permit the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the
administrative committee for a further period of one year from 18th July, 2024 to 17th
July, 2025 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office, whichever is earlier to
avoid administrative vacuum in the said society.

The term of the administrative committee appointed under subsection (1) of
Section 33 of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969) to manage the
affairs of the Ernakulam District Milma Employees Cooperative Society Limited No.
E.382 in Ernakulam district expired on 17th July, 2023. The term of the administrative
committee of the said Society was extended for a further period of one year from 18th
July, 2023 to 17th July, 2024 in pursuance of Notification issued under G.O.
(P)No.92/2024 Coop dated 03rd June, 2024 and published as S.R.O. No.492/2024 in

the Kerala Gazette Extra ordinary No.1782 dated 05th June, 2024. The Registrar of Co
operative Societies has reported that the election to the board of directors of the said

July, 2025 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office whichever is earlier, to
avoid administrative vacuum in the said society. The Government have considered the
matter in detail and are satisfied that it is necessary in public interest, to permit the
Registrar of Cooperative Societies to extend the term of the administrative committee
appointed to manage the affairs of the said society for a further period of one year from
18th July, 2024 to 17th July, 2025 or till a newly elected committee enters upon office,
whichever is earlier.
This order is intended to achieve the above object.
