NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Kerala Public Services

Act, 1968 (19 of 1968), the Government of Kerala hereby make the following rules further to amend

the Kerala Fisheries Subordinate Service Special Rules, 2020 issued under G.O. (P) No.16/2020/F&P

dated 24^th June, 2020 and published as S.R.O. No. 438/2020 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.

1621, dated 30^th June, 2020, namely:-

RULES

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Kerala Fisheries

Subordinate Service Special (Amendment) Rules, 2025.

(2) They shall come into force at once.

2. Amendment of the Rules.-In the Kerala Fisheries Subordinate Special Service Rules, 2020,-

(1) in the TABLE under rule 4, in category 3. Fisheries Officer,-

(i) in the Qualifications in column (3) against item (i) in column (2), for the entries "A

Bachelor's degree in Science with Physics/Maths/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology as Main subjects from a

recognized University", the entries "A Bachelor's degree in Science with

Physics/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology as main subject from a recognized University" shall be substituted;

(ii) in the Qualifications in column (3) against item (ii) in column (2), for the entries "A

Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Botany or Zoology as main subject from a

recognized University", the entries "A Bachelor’s Degree in Science with

Physics/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology as main subject from a recognized University" shall be substituted;

(2) in rule 7, for sub-clause (ii), the following sub-clause shall be substituted, namely:-

"(ii) if appointed by promotion or by transfer (where direct recruitment is not resorted to)

for a total period of one year on duty within a continuous period of two years."

Explanatory Note

(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)

The Government have issued the Kerala Fisheries Subordinate Service Special Rules, 2020 vide

G.O.(P) No.16/2020/F&P dated 24^th June, 2020 and published as S.R.O. No. 438/2020 in the Kerala

Gazette Extraordinary No.1621 dated 30^th June, 2020. Now, the Government have decided to amend

certain provisions in the said Rules.

The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
