In exercise of the powers conferred under section 12(1) of The Bharatiya Nagarik

Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the undersigned do hereby define the area noted below in

column No.2 of the schedule within which the designated officer mentioned in column

No.1 of the schedule may exercise all the powers provided by law in respect of cases

instituted u/s 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act,1881 or any powers within which

he/she has been invested by the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala with effect from

01.01.2026.

Explanatory Note

(This does not form part of the notification but is intended to indicate its general

purport)

The Hon’ble High Court of Kerala has informed vide Official Memorandum

referred above that the Hon’ble High Court has decided to extend the jurisdiction of

‘24X7 ON Court’ at Kollam to the whole district of Kollam in respect of cases instituted

u/s 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 in the Kollam District, from 01.01.2026.

The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
