NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (5) of rule 3 of the Kerala Abkari

Shops Disposal Rules, 2002, the Government of Kerala hereby notify the following place as

Tourist Centre for the purpose of the said rules and consequently make the following further

amendment to the notification issued under G. O. (P) No. 184/2003/TD dated 20th November,

2003 and published as S. R. O. No. 1071/2003 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 2135

dated 20th November, 2003, namely:—

AMENDMENT

In the said notification, after serial number 89 and the entries against it in columns

(1) and (2), the following serial number and entries shall respectively be added,

namely:—

“ 90. Meenpidippara

Area coming under Ward Nos. 7 and 8 of

Kottarakkara Municipality and Ward No. 14

(Iyppalloor) of Melila Grama Panchayath in

Kottarakkara Taluk.”.

Explanatory Note

(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general

purport.)

As per sub-rule (5) of rule 3 of the Kerala Abkari Shops Disposal Rules, 2002, the

Government is empowered to grant Beer/Wine parlour license in Form 11 under the

Foreign Liquor Rules, 1953 to the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Limited and

to other eligible categories in such of the tourist centres notified by the Government. In

the interest of promotion of tourism in the State, the Government have decided to include

Meenpidippara of Kottarakkara Taluk in Kollam District which is a tourist destination for

the purpose of said sub-rule and to amend the notification issued under G. O. (P)

No. 184/2003/TD dated 20th November, 2003 and published as S. R. O. No. 1071/2003

in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 2135 dated 20th November, 2003, suitably.

The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
