NOTIFICATION
WHEREAS, under sub-section (2) of section 69A of the Kerala Co-operative
Societies Act, 1969 (21 of 1969), the Government may appoint one or more persons as
Ombudsman or Ombudsmen to carry out the functions entrusted to them by or under the
Kerala Co-operative Ombudsman Scheme with the object of enabling redressal of
complaints relating to deficiency in banking or other services rendered by co-operative

AND WHEREAS, under sub-section (4) of section 69A, the Ombudsman or
Ombudsmen so appointed under sub-section (2) shall be a person or persons having
minimum of ten years of Bar practice and having experience and expertise in banking or
co-operative field;
WHEREAS,
as
per
notification
issued
under G.O.(P)No.113/2023/Co-
op dated 06th May 2023 and published as S.R.O. No.560/2023 in the Kerala Gazette
Extraordinary No.1565 dated 8th May 2023, the Government have appointed Adv. Nisha
O.S., ‘Sree Lekshmi’, Pazhayakada, Thirupuram P.O, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 133 as
the Co-operative Ombudsman to carry out the functions entrusted to her under the Kerala
Co-operative Ombudsman Scheme, 2010 issued under G.O.(P)No.226/2010/Co-op dated
31st December, 2010 and published as S.R.O. No. 9/2011 in the Kerala Gazette
Extraordinary No.8 dated 6th January, 2011;
AND WHEREAS, the term of office of Adv. Nisha O.S., ‘Sree Lekshmi’,
Pazhayakada, Thirupuram P.O, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 133 has expired on 08 th May
2026 as she completed three years of service as Co- operative Ombudsman;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred under section 69A of the
Kerala Co-operative Societies Act, 1969, (Act 21 of 1969) Government of Kerala hereby
appoint Adv. Rajan Velloth, Dreams, Pachapoika (P.O), Kuthuparamb, Kannur 670 643 as
the Co-operative Ombudsman with immediate effect subject to the following conditions,
namely:-
1. There shall be only one Ombudsman under the scheme with jurisdiction over the
whole of the State of Kerala.
2. The Headquarters of the Ombudsman shall be at Thiruvananthapuram and he shall
have occasional sittings at all the districts as and when required.
3. The term of office of the Ombudsman shall be three years from the date of his
entering upon office or attaining the age of sixty five years whichever is earlier.

4. The Ombudsman shall be entitled to a consolidated amount of Rupees Ninety
Thousand (Rs.90,000/-) as salary per mensem.
5. The Ombudsman shall be entitled to traveling allowance and conveyance facilities
as are admissible to a Class I Officer of the State.
6. The Ombudsman shall be governed by the provisions of the Kerala Service Rules
for the purposes of leave. The power to grant or refuse leave shall be vested with the
Government.

Explanatory Note

purport.]
The term of office of Adv. Nisha O.S, appointed as Co-operative Ombudsman under
the Kerala Co operative Ombudsman Scheme, 2010 as per notification issued under G.O.
(P)No.113/2023/Co-op dated 6th May 2023, and published as S.R.O. No.560/2023 in the
Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.1565 dated 8th May 2023 has expired on 08th May,
2026. Now, Government have decided to appoint Adv. Rajan Velloth, Dreams,
Pachapoika (P.O), Kuthuparamb, Kannur 670 643 as the Co operative Ombudsman with
immediate effect for a period of three years from the date of his entering upon office or
attaining the age of sixty five years whichever is earlier.
The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
