ADMINISTRATION OF UNION TERRITORY OF LADAKH

NOTIFICATION

Ladakh, the 30^th May, 2022.

S.O. 75 - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Jammu and Kashmir Development

Act, 1970, (Act No. XIX of 1970), the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh hereby declare the area as

specified and detailed in the schedule to be the "Local Area" for the purpose of this Act and constitutes therefor an

Authority to be known as "Greater Kargil Development Authority" for the "Local Area" read with the Drawing No.

DULB/LADAKH UT-LEH/LAM/2021/02 Dated 04.06.2021 (Annexure-A), and specified as follows;

Local area declared earlier for any other Development Authority under Development Act shall cease to exist over the

local area notified under the Ladakh Smart Cities Development Authority from time to time.

SCHEDULE

Boundaries of the ‘Greater Kargil’ local area of Greater Kargil Development Authority.

North: Starting from point "A", is above the NH 1 towards Srinagar, where the edge of Hardas village boundary

meets the contour of 2760 meter (M); thence point “B” lies at the junction of Kargil-Hunderman Brok Road

and contour of 2760 meter (M) while passing through the contours of 2730 meter (M); thence along the

southwestern direction and meanders along the hills upto the point where meets the village boundary of

Akchamal and the contour of 3550 meter (M) is the Point “C”.

East: Starting from point “C”, towards eastern direction and along the village boundary of Akchamal where it meets

the contour at 3900 meter (M) is point “D”; thence the point “E”, lies along the boundary of Akchamal village,

below the Aryan valley road, meeting the contour of 3270 meters (M); thence along the eastern edge of

Gurbthang plateau where the boundary of Pashkum village starts at the contour of 3030 meters (M) is the point

“F”; thence along the Pashkum village boundary where it meets the contour of 3000 meter (M) is the point

“G”; thence towards south-eastern direction where the Pashkum village boundary meets the contour of 3780

meter (M) is the point “H”; thence along the Pashkum village boundary, where it meets the boundary of Minjee

village at the contour of 2790 meter (M) is the point “I”.

South: Starting from point “I”, along the village boundary of Minjee where it meets the contour at 3990 meter (M)

lies Point “J”; thence the point “K”, lies where the south-eastern boundary of Minjee village, meets edge of

Trespone village boundary at the contour of 3180 meters (M); thence toward the southern direction along the

foothills, the point “L” lies on the junction of Trespone village boundary and the contour of 2910 meter (M);

thence towards the eastward direction along the Zanskar road, the edge Trespone village boundary meets the

contour of 3000 meter (M), is the point “M”.

West: Starting from point “M”, along the village boundary of Trespone where it meets the contour at 2820 meter (M)

lies Point “N”; thence the point “O” is towards the northern direction, lying along the Zanskar road, where the

western village boundary of Minjee meets the contour of 4710 meters (M); thence towards the northern

direction, at hilltop where the village boundaries of the Minjee and Chuliskambo meet at the contour of 4530

meter (M), lies point “P”; thence towards the southeastern direction along the Chuliskambo village boundary

upto the point “A” which is the point of start.
