Dated the 12th February, 2025
No.10-1/EC/LDH/2023(A) :In exercise of the powers vested in it under Rule 4(4) of the Jammu and Kashmir
Panchayati Raj Rules, 1996, the State Election Commission (Election Authority), Ladakh, in consultation with the
UT Administration of Ladakh, hereby designates the following officers of the UT Administration of Ladakh, as
Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), for all constituencies
of Halqa Panchayats falling under their jurisdiction, as shown below, with immediate effect:

An Electoral Registration Officer may, subject to such restrictions as may be imposed by the Chief
Electoral Officer (Panchayat), employ such persons as he thinks fit for the preparation/revision of electoral rolls.
Every Assistant Electoral Registration Officer shall, subject to the control of the Electoral Registration
Officer, be competent to perform all or any of the functions of the Electoral Registration Officer.

NOTIFICATION
Dated the 12th February, 2025
No.10-1/EC/LDH/2023:In exercise of the powers vested in it under Article 243K and Article 243L of the
Constitution of India read with Section 36 (C) (3) of the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989, the State
Election Commission (Election Authority), Ladakh, in consultation with the UT Administration of Ladakh, hereby
designates the Administrative Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, UT Administration of
Ladakh, as the Chief Electoral Officer (Panchayat), Union Territory of Ladakh with immediate effect.
Subject to the superintendence, direction and control of the State Election Commission (Election
Authority), the Chief Electoral Officer (Panchayat) shall supervise the preparation and revision of electoral rolls and
conduct of all elections to Panchayats in the Union Territory of Ladakh under the aforesaid Act and the rules made
thereunder.

Subject:- Conduct of Panchayat Elections – reg.
Madam,
I am directed to refer to your office letter No.Adm.Secy/RDD(UTL)/2025/121-125 dated 10.02.2025 on the
above noted subject and to forward herewith this Commission’s Notification No. 10-1/EC/LDH/2023 and
Notification No. 10-1/EC/LDH/2023(A) both dated 12.02.2025 appointing Chief Electoral Officer (Panchayat) and
Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers respectively. It is requested that the
said notifications may kindly be published in the Official Gazette immediately and two copies of the Official
Gazette containing the said Notifications may be sent to this Commission for its record at the earliest.
It is further requested to suggest a suitable schedule for preparation/revision of electoral rolls for
Panchayats keeping in view weather and other conditions etc. in the UT to this Commission for further necessary
action at the earliest.
