NOTIFICATION

No.6-2/EC/LKD/2016 : Whereas, a casual vacancy had occurred in the Village (Dweep)

Panchayat, Kalpeni Lakshadweep due to the resignation of Smt. Ramla Beegum M.C., as

member elected to Constituency No.3.

And, whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of Rule 79 of the Lakshadweep (Election to

Panchayats) Rules, 1995, the Election Commission for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep,

appointed under Section 185 of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (Panchayats) Regulation,

1994, vide Notification No. 6-2/EC/LKD/2016 dated 25^th November, 2016, called upon the said

constituency to elect a member to fill the said vacancy in accordance with the Lakshadweep

Panchayats Regulation, 1994 and the said rules and orders made thereunder.

And, whereas, the poll was taken on 27^th December, 2016.

And, whereas, after the counting of votes on 28^th December, 2016, the Returning Officer

has declared the result of the election;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of Rule 78 of the Lakshadweep (Election to

Panchayats) Rules, 1995, the Election Commission for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep

publishes herebelow the name of the member elected to Village (Dweep) Panchayat, Kalpeni

Lakshadweep from Constituency No. 3.
