F.No. 34/13/2011-LR/232 :- In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (a) of
Sub-Section (1) of Section 9, Section - 27 and Section - 75 of Indian Stamp Act, 1899
(Central Act II of 1899), the Lakshadweep Administration hereby revises and restructure the
existing Stamp duty levied on the instruments for purpose of effecting transfer of interest in
land by way of conveyance/gift/exchange/transfer/sale etc. to 6% for female ownership, 7%
for joint ownership of male and female and 8% for others on the total valuation based on the
prescribed circle rate or sale consideration whichever is higher. This comes into force with
immediate effect.
This is issued with the approval of the competent authority.
