NOTIFICATION
F.No. 12/01/2021-Services (2)/1440 :- In exercise of the powers conferred by
Section 20 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974) read with Notification
No. S.O. 183 (E) dated 20th March, 1974 of the Government of India, Ministry of Home
Affairs, New Delhi, the Administrator Union Territory of Lakshadweep is pleased to appoint
Shri. Vishal Sah IAS (AGMUT-2019), Deputy Collector Kavaratti as Executive
Magistrate with jurisdiction in the Kavaratti Island and islets around the Kavaratti Island.
He will exercise all or any of the powers exercisable by an Executive Magistrate under the
said code.
The Administrator is also pleased to specially empower him to exercise the powers
specified under Section 107, 108, 109, 110, 133, 143, 144, 174 & 176 of the said code.
This Notification shall have effect from the date on which the officer takes over
charge as Deputy Collector Kavaratti Island and remains till such period the officer holds the
charge of Deputy Collector Kavaratti Island.
This is issued with the approval of Competent Authority vide Diary No. 2043,
dated 03-08-2021.
