NOTIFICATION
F.No. 04/3/2021-Genl/545 :- Whereas the requisition of Government Girls Senior
Secondary School, Kavaratti and Government Senior Secondary School, Kavaratti needed for
declaring as Temporary Jails at Kavaratti Island in exercise of the powers conferred under Sub
Section 1 of Section 3 of the Prison Act 1894, the Administration of Union Territory of
Lakshadweep is pleased to convert Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kavaratti
and Government Senior Secondary School, Kavaratti as Temporary Jails with effect
from 21-03-2022 (morning) till further orders considering the impending protest planned by the
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the capital Island on 21-03-2022.
This is issued with the approval of the competent authority vide Diary No. 747
dated 20-03-2022.
