NOTIFICATION

F.No.13/5/2021-LR(2)/732 :- Whereas the place notified in the schedule below is of

vital importance to the country, as it is the only POL outlet in Minicoy, Union Territory of

Lakshadweep and the POL outlet is of strategic interest it determines the administrations

capacity to move and mobilise in case of genuine requirement, or during any disaster or

attack.

And whereas, information with respect thereto, or the destruction or the obstruction

thereof or interference therewith would be useful to an enemy and such an access to

information has the potential to cripple the economy and other strategic interest of the Union

Territory and the nation as a whole.

Now therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by the sub clause (d) of Clause (8) of

Section 2 of the Official Secret Act, 1923 (Central Act 19 of 1923), read with the notification

S.O. No. 1285 dated the 4^th May, 1963 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India,

the Union Territory of Lakshadweep Administration hereby declare the place specified in the

schedule below to be a “ Prohibited Place” for the purpose of the said Act and direct that a

copy of this notification, in English and Malayalam version thereof be affixed in the said place.

NOTIFICATION

F.No.11/4/2020-DPC/190 :- In pursuance of Notification of the Government of India,

extraordinary Gazette Notification No. S.O. 1427(E) dated 28^th March 2022, the Secretary,

Rural Development, Union Territory of Lakshadweep is pleases to fix the wage rate payable

to the unskilled manual workers of schemes under Mahatma Gandhi NREG Act, 2005 at a

uniform rate of Rs. 284/-(Rupees two hundred and eighty four) only per day without any

DA component in respect of entire Union Territory of Lakshadweep.

The rate shall come into force with effect from 01-04-2022.

The schedule of wage of labourers under MGNREGA is so fixed that an adult person

working for more than nine hours (including one hour of interval of break) would normally earn

wage equal to wage rate. Mahatma Gandhi NREGA works are demand based and labourers

are not eligible for paid holidays.
