NOTIFICATION

F.No.15/02/2024-I&PR/127:- As you are aware, the Press and Registration of Periodicals

Act 2023 has been enacted and notified on 29.12.2023. The Ministry of Information and

Broadcasting has also prepared the Draft Press and Registration of Periodicals (PRP)

Rules - 2024 under the Act. The Act has also brought substantial changes in the roles of

specified Authorities vis-a-vis their roles. Referred to as the said Act 2023 Part-II 2(P) &

12(2), the Competent Authority is pleased to nominate the “Director” Information and Public

Relations, UTL as the Nodal Officer and the “Specified Authority” and Director, Department

of “Information and Public Relations” UTL, is specified as the designated office to receive

copy of periodicals from the publisher.

This notification shall come into effect from the date of its publication in the official

Gazette of UT of Lakshadweep.
