Authorizing District Collector for issuance of Permission to Bonafide Foreign

Tourists Visiting Lakshadweep.

Ref:-

Order F.No.1/7/1/88-Genl dated 16.12.1988.

The Hon’ble Administrator of Lakshadweep, is pleased to authorize the District Collector,

Union Territory of Lakshadweep, to issue permission to Bonafied Foreign Tourists to visit

Islands as specified/notified from time to time under the Rule 3 of the Laccadive, Minicoy,

and Amindivi Islands (Restriction on Entry and Residence) Rules, 1967.

2. This authorisation aims to facilitate ease of access for Bonafide Foreign Tourists visiting

Lakshadweep Islands for tourism purpose, while ensuring compliance with the extant

Regulations and Rules.

3. The aforementioned authorisation shall be subject to the following conditions:

a. The Bonafide Foreign Tourist must have a valid Passport and valid Tourist Visa.

b. Due diligence shall be exercised while granting such Permission to Bonafide

ForeignTourists.

c. This Permission so issued, shall be valid only for those Islands and only for that

time period, which are explicitly mentioned in the Permission.

4. This order shall come into force with immediate effect. This is issued with the approval of

the Hon’ble Administrator vide dairy No. 21 dated 20.01.2025.
