PUBLIC NOTICE

In compliance with the instructions issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and

Empowerment regarding the welfare and rights of transgender individuals, various

facilities and support measures are to be implemented for their benefit in the Union

Territory of Lakshadweep.

However, as no individual has officially identified themselves as transgender

within the Union Territory of Lakshadweep so far, the implementation of these measures

has not been possible.

Therefore, it is notified that any individual residing in Lakshadweep who identifies

as transgender is kindly requested to contact the Director, Directorate of Social

Welfare & Tribal Affairs within 30 days from the date of this notice.

The Director, Social Welfare & Tribal Affairs is the Nodal Officer for the

matters related to the welfare of Transgender and will ensure that necessary support

and facilities are extended as per the instructions.
