the State of Maharashtra, elected from the Local Authorities’ Constituencies, specified in column (1) of the

table below, as per the numbers shown in the corresponding entries in column (2) of the table, are going to

become vacant, on the dates mentioned in the corresponding entries in column (3) of the Table ; and

Whereas, a biennial election has to be held for the purpose of filling the vacancies so arising ; and

Whereas, the term of office of the members to be elected to the above Legislative Council from

the said Local Authorities’ Constituencies shall be subject to the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court

in SLP (C) No. 17123/2015 (Election Commission of India Vs Devesh Chandra Thakur and Others) ;

Now, therefore, as recommended by the Election Commission of India in pursuance of section 16

of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Governor of the State of Maharashtra
