BUILDING AND OTHER CONSTRUCTION WORKERS (REGULATION OF EMPLOYMENT AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE)
ACT, 1996.
No. Emarat-2014/CR-167/Kam-7.—Whereas by Government Notification, Industries, Energy and
Labour Department, No. Emarat 2018/CR-07/Kam-7, dated the 30th June 2018 (hereinafter referred to
as “ the said notification ”), the Government of Maharashtra has, in exercise of the powers conferred
by section 18 of the Building and other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions
of Service) Act, 1996 (27 of 1996), reconstituted the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction
Workers Welfare Board (hereinafter referred to as “the said Board”) inter alia consisting of the Chairperson
of the said Board, appointed by the Government ;
And Whereas, the State Government is of the opinion that the Chairperson of the said Board is
ceased to represent adequately, the interest of the building workers ;
And Whereas, it is expedient to appoint the Minister for Labour as Ex-officio Chairperson of the said
Board in place of the existing Chairperson for the effective implementation of the provisions of the Act
and schemes of the said Board ;
Now, therefor, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 18 of The Building and Other
Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996 (27 of 1996)
read with sub-rule(3) of rule 36 of the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation
of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2007, the Government of Maharashtra hereby appoints
the Minister for Labour as a Chairperson of the said Board and for the purpose amends the said
notification as follows, namely,—
In the said notification, for the words “ Shri Omprakash Nanaku Yadav ” the words “ Minister
For Labour ” shall be substituted.
