NOTIFICATION

MAHARASHTRA MONEY LENDING (REGULATION) ACT, 2014.

No. MLA 1620/C.R.178/7-C - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and (2) of

section 54 of the Maharashtra Money lending(Regulation)Act, 2014 (Mah. VIII of 2014), and of all

other powers enabling it in that behalf, the Government of Maharashtra is hereby pleased to

makes the following rules further to amend the Maharashtra Money Lending (Regulation) Rules,

2014, as follows, namely :-

These rules may be called the Maharashtra Money Lending (Regulation) (First Amendment)

Rules, 2020.

In rule 3 of the Maharashtra Money Lending (Regulation) Rules, 2014 (hereinafter referred

to as the principal Rules), after sub-rule (3),—

(i) Before the existing proviso the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:—

“Provided that, applications for the renewal of license for the year 2020-21, shall be

received by the Assistant Registrar upto 31st December 2020:”;

(ii) In the existing proviso, after the word “Provided” the word “further” shall be inserted.

After rule 8 of the principal Rules the following rule shall be inserted, namely:-

“ 8A. From the date of the receipt of application for grant of license or renewal of license,

Assistant Registrar shall forward the application together with his report, within one month

from the date of receipt of the application to the District Deputy Registrar and he shall make

a decision regarding granting or refusal of renewal of license, as the case may be, within one

month from the date of receipt of report of the Assistant Registrar.”
