Notice of publication of Electoral Roll

No. P-10/52059/2010.—Attention of all concerned is invited to the fact that pursuant to the

provisions of Rule 4(1) of Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council Rules, 1969, the Council had decided

8th February 2019 as cut-off date for the purpose of preparation of Electoral Roll. Consequently,

based on 8th February 2019 as cut-off date, the Electoral Roll was prepared and accordingly

notice was published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette, dated 18th June 2019 and in various

newspapers on 18th June 2019.

As required under Rule 4(2) of the Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council Rules, 1969, the

Electoral Roll was kept open for inspection in the office of Council situated at 404, R Square,

Opposite E.S.I.S. Hospital, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Mulund (West), Mumbai 400 080 upto

6th July 2019. The Registrar did not receive any claim for inclusion of name in the roll or also did

not receive any objection as to inclusion of any other person’s name in the roll or to any particulars

in any entry in the roll. Therefore, the Electoral Roll prepared and kept open for inspection was

deemed to be final on 13th Day of July 2019. Accordingly, same was handed-over to the Returning

Officer appointed by Government of Maharashtra. As required under Rule 7 of MSPC Rules, the

Returning Officer then prepared and published election program in the Maharashtra Government

Gazette, dated 2nd March 2020 and in various newspapers on 5th March 2020.

Considering outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic and lockdown declared by Government of

India,returning officer published on MSPC official website and then in Newspapers dated

4th April 2020 Notice regarding postponement of Election program to MSPC.

Considering various orders issued by Government of India and Maharashtra Government

regarding New normal and relaxing norms of lock down, president MSPC directed Registrar to

call for extra ordinary council meeting via online mode on 22nd December 2020 to discuss MSPC

election issue. The Council, in the said meeting, examined the issue and noted that there is a

reasonable time gap between the cut-off date fixed earlier. To avoid probable consequences of this

time gap, the Council took a decision to revise the cut-off date so that the Pharmacists newly

registered and those who have renewed their registration during approximately twenty months

after 8th February 2019 and the pharmacists whose names are re-entered in the register during

this period are not deprived off their right of casting of vote or contesting the election. The Council

therefore resolved to revise the cut-off date to 31st December 2020. In view of the aforesaid revision

in cut-off date, a fresh notice of publication of Electoral Roll is issued superseding the notice

issued in the Maharashtra Government Gazette, dated 18th June 2019. All concerned are requested

to take a note of the following notice published as required under Rule 4(2) of the Maharashtra

State Pharmacy Council Rules, 1969.

Notice of publication of Electoral Roll

Notice is hereby given that the electoral roll for election of members of the Maharashtra

State Pharmacy Council under clause (a) of Section 19 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948, has been prepared

in accordance with Rule 4 of the Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council Rules, 1969 and copies of

the roll will be available for inspection at the Office of the Council situated at 404 R Square,

Opposite E.S.I.S. Hospital, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Mulund (West), Mumbai 400 080.

2. (a) Every claim for inclusion of name in the roll, or

(b) every objection to —

(i) the inclusion of any other person’s name in the roll, or

(ii) to any particulars in any entry in the roll,

shall be addressed to the Registrar and shall be presented or sent by post to him at the

address referred to above, so as to reach him on or before the 9th day of April 2021.
