MAHARASHTRA SLUM AREAS (IMPROVEMENT, CLEARANCE AND RE-DEVELOPMENT) ACT, 1971.

Whereas, the Maharashtra Slum Areas (Improvement, Clearance and Re-Development) Act, 1971

has come into force with effect from 3^rd day of September 1971, in the limits of Corporation of City of

Nagpur by the Government of Maharashtra vide Government Notification of Urban Development, Public

Health and Housing Department No. SCA-1571-35325-F-III, dated 3rd September, 1971.

And whereas I, on being appointed as Competent Authority by virtue of notification issued on 23^rd

April, 2015 under Section 3(1) of the Maharashtra Slum Area (Improvement, Clearance and

Re-Development) Act, 1971 to exercise the power as per the provision of Maharashtra Slum Areas

(Improvement, Clearance and Re-Development) Act, 1971.

And whereas, it is necessary to obtain permission of the Competent Authority, Slum in respect of

development made in the notified Slum Area.

Now, therefore I, Competent Authority Slum Nagpur by exercising the power under Section 8(1) and

(2) of the Maharashtra Slum Areas (Improvement, Clearance and Re-Development) Act 1971, direct the

persons occupying the permises in a notified slum area, not erect any building in the notified slum area

except with the previous permission in writing of the Competent Authority, Slum. The notification is

issued as per the provision made therein in Section 8(1) and (2) of the Maharashtra Slum Areas Act,

1971. Failure to take the permission for development of the premises in occupation of the notified Slum

area, the necessary action deem fit in the provision of Maharashtra Slum Areas (improvement, Clear-

ance and Re-Development) Act, 1971 will be taken against the occupier/owner/tenant etc.
