NOTIFICATION

1. Vide Gazette of India [S.O. 4504 (E)] Notification Extraordinary-Part II -Section 3- Sub-

Section (ii) No. CG-DL-E-30102021-230842 dated 29th October 2021 (Annexure-I), the Central

Government has appointed the 3rd day of November 2021, as the date on which the provisions of

the Major Port Authority Act shall come into force.

2. Subsequently, the Central Government, in pursuance of sub-Section 1 of Section 3 of the

Major Port Authorities Act, 2021 has constituted the Board of Mumbai Port Authority w.e.f.

31st January 2022, vide Gazette Notification G.S.R. No. 62 (E.) dated 31st January 2022.

3. The Board of Mumbai Port Authoirty vide Resolution No. 2 dated 15th February 2022

accorded approval to change the name of “Mumbai Port Trust” to “Mumbai Port Authority” in

accordance with the Major Port Authorities Act.

4. In view of that, the following changes are effected from 31st January 2022, i.e. the date of

constitution of Board of Mumbai Port Authority by the Central Government.
