STATEMENT OF OBJECTS AND REASONS

Several enactments in the Maharashtra are obsolete due to constitutional

changes, state reorganisation, and enactments of new laws. References to them

persist, causing ambiguity. Therefore, the State Government has undertaken

the exercise of examining all the State Laws in force in the State of Maharashtra

and decided to repeal the Bombay enactments, Bombay Regulations, Bengal

Regulations, Central Provinces and Berar Acts, Hyderabad Acts and Madhya

Pradesh Acts which are not in use.

Clause 3 of the Bill contains the provision for saving of certain actions as

a precautionary provision which is usually included in the Acts of this kind.

2.  The Bill intends to achieve the above objectives.
