MAHARASHTRA ACT No. XXII OF 2026.

(First published, after having received the assent of the Governor in the

“Maharashtra Government Gazette”, on the 20th April 2026).

An Act to repeal certain enactments in the State of Maharashtra.

WHEREAS it is expedient to repeal certain enactments in the State of

Maharashtra; it is hereby enacted in the Seventy-seventh Year of the Republic

of India as follows :—

1.  This Act may be called the Maharashtra Repealing Act, 2026.

2.  The enactments specified in Schedule A and Schedule B appended hereto

are hereby repealed.

3.⁠  (1) The repeal by this Act of any enactment shall not,—

(a) affect any other enactment in which the repealed enactment has

been applied, incorporated or referred to ;

In pursuance of clause (3) of article 348 of the Constitution of India, the following translation

in English of the Maharashtra Repealing Act, 2026 (Mah. Act No. XXII of 2026), is hereby published

under the authority of the Governor.

(b) affect the validity, invalidity, effect or consequences of anything

already done or suffered, or any right, title, obligation or liability already

acquired, accrued or incurred, or any remedy or proceeding in respect

thereof, or any release or discharge of or from any debt, penalty, obligation,

liability, claim or demand, or any indemnity already granted, or the proof

of any past act or thing ;

(c) affect any principle or rule of law, or establised jurisdiction, form

or course of pleading, practice or procedure, or existing usage, custom,

privilege, restriction, exemption, office or appointment, notwithstanding

that the same respectively may have been in any manner affirmed or

recognised or derived by, in or from any enactment hereby repealed ;

(d) revive or restore any enactment, jurisdiction, office, custom, liability,

right, title, privilege, restriction, exemption, usage, practice, procedure or

other matter or thing not now existing or in force.

(2)  The repeal of the enactments specified in the Schedule B by this Act

shall not affect the audit, examination, accounting, investigation, inquiry or

any other action taken or to be taken in relation thereto by any authority and

such audit, examination, accounting, investigation, inquiry or action could be

taken and or continued as if the said enactments are not repealed by this Act.

(3)  The provisions of section 7 of the Maharashtra General Clauses Act,

shall apply to the enactments repealed by this Act.
