NOTIFICATION

The 29th March, 2018

S.R.O. No. 131/2018— Whereas, the names of the members of the Odisha Board

of Wakfs under sub-section (1) of the Section 13 read with Section 14 of the Wakf Act,

1995 (43 of 1995) has been published in the Extraordinary issue No.1494 of the Odisha

Gazette, dated the 2nd August, 2013 under the Notification of the Government of Odisha

in Law Department No.7534-Wakf-24/10-L, dated the 25th July, 2013 and as per Section

19 of Wakf Act, 1995 (43 of 1995). The Notification for selection of Chairman of Odisha

Board of Wakf, Cuttack has been published in the Odisha Gazette vide Notification

No.11657/L., dated the 29th October, 2013 of Law Department.

And, whereas, the vacancy for the post of Chairman of Odisha Board of Wakf

caused due to death of the Ex-Chairman, OBW during his incumbency. In the mean time

the Board of Wakf have elected Syed Ekram Hussain as the Chairman from amongst

Board members in the meeting held on 24th February, 2018 in presence of the

Government observer.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 19 of Wakf Act,1995

(43 of 1995), the State Government do hereby appoint Syed Ekram Hussain, member of

OBW as the Chairman of the Odisha Board of Wakf being elected as such.
