NOTIFICATION

The 21st August, 2018

S.R.O. No.359/2018— Whereas, under Para. (i) of the proviso to sub- clause (b) of

clause 1 of Schedule V- A of the Odisha Government Land Settlement Rules, 1983, for

settlement of land, applications were required to be submitted within a period of six months

from the date of publication of the Odisha Government Land Settlement (Amendment)

Rules, 2014;

And, whereas, the period of limitation so provided expired on the 10th May, 2015;

And, whereas, the said period was further extended for three years with effect from

the 11th May, 2015 under the notification of the Government of Odisha in the Revenue &

Disaster Management Department No. 35405-GE (GL)-S- 45/2017/R&D.M., dated the

26th October, 2017 published in the Extraordinary issue of the Odisha Gazette No. 1737,

dated the 26th October, 2017;

And, whereas, it has come to notice that a number of applicants are still awaiting to

apply for settlement of the land of the categories mentioned in sub- clauses (a) and (b) of

clause 1 of Schedule V- A of the Odisha Government Land Settlement Rules, 1983;

And, whereas, unless the time limit is extended, a number of applicants shall be

debarred from getting such land settled with heritable and transferable rights;

And, whereas, the State Government are satisfied that there exists sufficient

reasons for extending the said period of limitation;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Para. (i) of the proviso to

sub- clause (b) of clause 1 of Schedule V-A of the Odisha Government Land Settlement

Rules, 1983, the State Government do hereby extend the said period by a further period of

eleven months with effect from the 11th May, 2018.
