NOTIFICATION

The 25th August, 2018

S.R.O. No. 365/2018.–— In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to

Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Odisha is pleased to make the

following rules further to amend the Odisha Excise Service (Method of Recruitment and

Conditions of Service of Group-A Officers) Rules, 2002, namely :—

1. (1) These rules may be called the Odisha Excise Service (Method of Recruitment

and Conditions of Service of Group-A Officers) Amendment Rules, 2018.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the

Odisha Gazette.

2. In the Odisha Excise Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service

of Group-A Officers) Rules, 2002 in rule 4, for sub-rule (1), the following sub-rule shall be

substituted, namely:—

“ (1) Recruitment to the posts of Superintendent of Excise shall be made by

promotion from among members of the Odisha Excise Service, Group-‘B’ consisting of

Deputy Superintendent of Excise.”
