NOTIFICATION

The 11th September, 2018

S.R.O. No.384/2018— In pursuance of powers conferred by Section-21 of Cr. P.C.

1973 (Act. 2 of 1974) read with Section-34 of the Shops and Commercial Establishments

Act, 1956, the State Government do hereby vest the power of Special Executive

Magistrate with Executive Officers of Urban Local Bodies in their respective

NACs/Municipalities/Municipal Corporations except Bhubaneswar and Cuttack Municipal

Corporation of Odisha for the purpose of ensuring display of signboards in Odia language

in all Shops and Commercial Establishments under their respective jurisdiction for a period

of 6 (six) months from the date of publication of this Notification in the Odisha Gazette.

The Executive Officers vested with the powers of Special Executive Magistrate shall

be sub-ordinate to the respective District Magistrates under section -23 of Cr.P.C.
