ORDER

The 26th December, 2018

No. 2934-HOME-SPL3-CMPNY-0002/2015/C.— It has come to the notice of the

State Government that the Associations of Transporters, Loaders, Tippers and Stevedores

engaged in transport of minerals in the State may go on strike to obstruct transportation of

minerals by road. Disruption in transportation of minerals will affect adversely the local,

State and National economy by impacting production, employment in Mines and end-users

Industries.

Whereas, the State Government are satisfied that in the interest of the public, it is

necessary to prohibit strikes of the Associations of Transporters, Loaders, Tippers and

Stevedores in the State in order to continue the transportation of minerals uninterruptedly;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3(1) read with

Section 4(3) of the Odisha Essential Services (Maintenance) Act, 1988, the Government of

Odisha hereby prohibits strikes by any Association of Transporters, Loaders, Tippers and

Stevedores. The order shall remain in force for a period of six months with effect from 3rd

January, 2019.
