NOTIFICATION

The 11th February, 2019

S.R.O. No. 60/2019— Whereas a proposal containing the intention of the Governor

of Odisha to specify the whole of the Nayagarh Notified Area Council in the District of

Nayagarh as a “Smaller Urban Area” was published as required by sub-section(2) of

Section 4 of the Odisha Municipal Act, 1950 (Odisha Act 23 of 1950) in the Extraordinary

issue No. 1876 of the Odisha Gazette dated the 3rd October, 2018 under the Notification

of the Government of Odisha in the Housing & Urban Development Department No.

26541-Ele.-139 of 2018 HUD., dated the 3rd October, 2018 and also objections and

suggestions were invited in the said notification;

And, whereas, within the stipulated period of time no objection/suggestion was

received;

Now, therefore, in exercise of power conferred by clause(2) of Article 243 Q of the

Constitution of India read with sub-section (2) of Section 4 of said Act, the Governor of

Odisha having regard to the population of the area, the density of population therein, the

revenue generated for local administration, the percentage of employment in non-

agricultural activities and the economic importance of the area, hereby specifies the local

area comprising the whole of the Nayagarh Notified Area Council in the District of

Nayagarh with the boundaries described in the Schedule below, as a “Smaller Urban

Area”.

SCHEDULE

North:-

Part of Laxmiprasad and Barapali Sasan.

South:-

Part of Lenkudipada, Dhabalei, Nabaghanapur & Hariharpur.

West:-

Part of Tulasipur, Kalahandi, Muktapur & Lekhanpur.

East:-

Part of Sinduria & Jamusahi.
