NOTIFICATION

The 27th February, 2019

No.4561–AP-I-247/2018/A&FE.— The State Cabinet in their 70th meeting held on 26th

February, 2019 have approved the proposal for modification of “Farmers Welfare-Krushak

Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA)” scheme.

Introduction

The State Cabinet in their 65th meeting held on 21st

December, 2018 and 67th meeting held on 29th January, 2019 have

approved the proposal for Package for Farmers’ Welfare – Krushak

Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) to

further accelerate agricultural prosperity and provide financial

assistance to the farmers / landless agricultural households in the

State.

Modification of the

scheme

It was decided that a further 10 lakh small farmers/ marginal

farmers/ actual cultivators (share croppers)/landless agricultural

households be included in the KALIA scheme during 2018-19, so that

no one who is eligible will be left out.

Secondly, the support to cultivators for cultivation to be

provided to the farmers to purchase the agricultural inputs prior to

beginning of the season. i.e. during the 1^st quarter of the financial

year, any time from 01^st April on-wards for the Kharif season and any

time after 01^st September of the year for the Rabi season instead of

only on Akshya Trutiya & Nuakhai only.

Financial

Implications

The additional funds required for 2018-19 is estimated to be

Rs. 500 crore excluding the administrative cost for the additional 10

lakh farmers/ landless agricultural households.
