RESOLUTION

The 2nd March, 2019

Sub: Taking over of management & control of 55 Blood Banks in the name of

Odisha Blood Bank.

Government in Health & Family Welfare Department in the year 2017 by an order

No.24721, dated the 26th September, 2017 renamed 55 Red Cross Blood Banks as

"Odisha Blood Bank" with an objective to take over the management and control of Blood

Banks. Keeping in view the justification for improvement of services and betterment of the

Blood Banks, Government have decided to take over management and control of the

Blood Banks.

Presently, as per the Government in H & FW Department Letter No.2725/H., dated

the 30th January, 2019 the Government of Odisha have taken measures for provisioning

of free blood services with exemption of service / processing charges for blood

transfusion for all categories of patients requiring blood/ blood products at Government

Blood Banks and Blood Storage Units.

In view of the aforesaid notification dated the 30th January, 2019 read with this

Department order No.24721 dated 26.09.2017, the management and control of the 55

Odisha Blood Banks shall be deemed to have been taken over by the Government of

Odisha w.e.f.26.09.2017. Further all the services hitherto being provided by the said

Blood Banks, shall continue to be provided by Government of Odisha.

This resolution will be given effect retrospectively from 26th September, 2017.
