NOTIFICATION

The 26th March, 2019

S.R.O. No.111/2019— Whereas, Shri Saswat Mishra, IAS was appointed as the

Commissioner of Entertainment Tax in the notification of the Government of Odisha in the

Finance Department No.3059-FIN-CT1-TAX-0047-2012 dated the 4th February, 2016

under sub-section(1) of Section 3 of the Odisha Entertainment Tax Act, 2005 (Odisha

Act, 7 of 2006);

And, whereas, the Odisha Entertainment Tax Act, 2005 has been repealed by the

Odisha Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 with effect from the 1st July, 2017;

And, whereas, Shri Bishnupada Sethi, IAS is appointed as Commissioner of

Commercial Taxes & GST vice Shri Saswat Mishra in the office order of the Government

of Odisha in the GA & PG Department No.7065/AIS dated the 2nd March, 2019;

And, whereas, certain matters under the Odisha Entertainment Tax Act, 2005 so

repealed is saved under sub-sections (2) and (3) of Section 174 of the Odisha Goods and

Services Tax Act, 2017;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3

of the Odisha Entertainment Tax Act, 2006 (Odisha Act 7 of 2006) read with sub-sections

(2) and (3) of Section 174 of the Odisha Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (Odisha Act 7

of 2017) and Section 5 of the Odisha General Clauses Act, 1937(Odisha Act, 1 of 1937),

the State Government do hereby appoint Shri Bishnupada Sethi, IAS, Commissioner of

Commercial Taxes & Goods and Services Tax, Odisha to be the Commissioner of

Entertainment Tax, Odisha for carrying out the purpose of the Act with effect from the date

he assumes charge as such and he shall exercise such powers and discharge such

functions as are or may be conferred or imposed by or under the provisions of the Odisha

Entertainment Tax Act, 2005.
