NOTIFICATION

S.R.O. No.299/2019―Whereas, under Para. (i) of the proviso to clause 1 of Schedule
V-A of the Odisha Government Land Settlement Rules, 1983, for settlement of land,
applications were required to be submitted within a period of six months from the date of
publication of the Odisha Government Land Settlement (Amendment) Rules, 2014;
And, whereas, the period of limitation was last extended for eleven months with effect
from the 11th May, 2018 under the notification of the Government of Odisha in the Revenue &
Disaster Management Department No. 30932-RDM-LRGEA-STATUT-0005/2018, dated the
21st August, 2018 published in the Extraordinary issue of the Odisha Gazette No. 1544, dated
the 23rd August, 2018;
And, whereas, the period of limitation last extended has expired on the 10th April, 2019;
And, whereas, it has come to notice that a number of applicants are still awaiting to
apply for settlement of the land of the categories mentioned in sub-clauses (a) and (b) of
clause 1 of Schedule V-A of the Odisha Government Land Settlement Rules, 1983;
And, whereas, unless the time limit is extended, a number of applicants shall be
debarred from getting such land settled with heritable and transferable rights;
And, whereas, the State Government are satisfied that there exists sufficient reasons
for extending the said period of limitation;
