SUBJECT—NANO Unicorn Scheme on promotion of entrepreneurship at grassroots level.

No. 1558—SDTE-SD-MISC-0013/2022-SDTE.—Government of Odisha in the Skill

Development & Technical Education Department have been pleased to introduce and implement

a new scheme called NANO Unicorn from the date of issue this notification.

The Nano-Unicorn Scheme is an attempt to tackle the problems of skilled unemployment

youths in Odisha by promoting entrepreneurship among them at the grassroots level. The scheme

aims to identify the youths with entrepreneurship potential and to provide them the required seed

money (maximum up to rupees one lakh only) through a refundable loan assistance in order to

generate livelihood for themselves through self-employment.

The scheme will address the issue of distress migration, reduce the local unemployment

problems specially in rural and tribal sub-plan areas of the State, promote overall economic well-

being of local youth, bridge the regional imbalances and reduce poverty.

The scheme has been designed to cater to “Skilled-in-Odisha” youth i.e., alumni of ITIs/

Polytechnics of the State, World Skill Center, Bhubaneswar and centers conducting short term

skill trainings at district level under S.D. & T.E. Department.

The detailed guidelines of the scheme is being published separately for information of all

concerned.

ORDER—Ordered that the Notification be published in the extraordinary issue of Odisha Gazette

and copy of the same be supplied to all Departments of Government/all Heads of Departments/

Assembly Secretariat/Accountant General (A&E), Bhubaneswar.
