NOTIFICATION
The 2nd March 2024
S.R.O. No. 127/2024—In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 33 of the Odisha
Forest Act, 1972 (Odisha Act 14 of 1972), the State Government do hereby declare that the following
land situated in Village Kiang under Mathili Tahasil of Malkangiri District mutated and transferred in
favour of Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department for raising Compensatory Afforestation
thereon against the proposed diversion of 1.65 ha. of forest land for construction of 15 MW Small
Hydro Electric Project on Kolab River near Village Tentuligumma in Koraput District of Odisha by
M/s Pallavi Power & Mines Ltd., Secunderabad vide ‘in-principle’ approval of Government of India,
MoEF & CC, ERO, Bhubaneswar communicated in Letter No. 5-ORB 260/2015-BHU., dated the
11th December 2015 under Section 2 of the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980, the limits of which are
specified below and the area of which is 4.092 Ac. (1.65 ha.) shall be Protected Forest with effect
from the date of issue of the Notification and shall be known as “Kiang Protected Forest” :
