SUBJECT—Transformation of Government ITIs and Government Polytechnics as Iconic Institutions.

No. 2561—SDTE-PDE-II-Poly-0011/2024-SDTE.—Government of Odisha have been putting

thrust on skill and technical education with the brand value “Skilled in Odisha”. Along with higher

technical educational institutions, ITIs and Polytechnics are playing a major role in transforming

the skill ecosystem of Odisha.

Government, after careful consideration and with a futuristic outlook, have been pleased to

set-up/ transform the following three Polytechnics and three ITIs into Iconic Institutions :—

Government Polytechnic

1. BOSE, Cuttack

2. UGIE, Rourkela and SKDAV, Rourkela as a cluster

3. Government Polytechnic, Rayagada

Government ITI

. .

1. Government ITI, Balasore

2. Government ITI, Berhampur, Ganjam

3. Government ITI, Hirakud, Sambalpur

These Iconic Institutions shall have the following common features :—

1. Focus on one Primary Sector considering their current expertise and priority.

2. State-of-the-art infrastructure

3. International collaborations

4. Well-equipped labs in partnership with reputed partners.

5. Residential facilities

6. Vibrant campus with focus on research and innovation.

7. Multi-skilling/employability courses, etc.
