ORDER

The 13th August 2024

No. 2060/SECɆWhereas, the State Election Commission, Odisha vide

Notification No. 2043/SEC, dated 12.08.2024 has issued schedule for holding

by-elections to the office of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Panchayat Samities

including Chairman of Kabisuryanagar Panchayat Samiti in the District of

Ganjam;

Whereas, it has been brought to the notice of the Commission that the

Hon’ble High Court of Orissa vide their order dated 18.07.2024 passed in I.A.

No. 8412/2024 arising out of W.P.(C) No. 16094/2024 has directed that status

quo as on date in respect of the office of Chairperson, Kabisuryanagar Panchayat

Samiti shall be maintained till 11^th September, 2024;

Now, therefore, in partial modification to the Commission’s Notification

No. 2043/SEC, dated 12.08.2024 by-election to the office of Chairman,

Kabisuryanagar Panchayat Samiti is excluded from the schedule until further

orders.
