NOTIFICATION

S.R.O. No. 724/2024ʊWhereas the Notification under section 4(1) of the Right to

Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and

Resettlement Act, 2013, was issued from Government in Revenue and D.M.

Department vide No.31367 Dated 17.09.2022 to carry out SIA study for acquisition

of private land of Ac.41.693 in 15 villages under Sankhemundi and Digapahandi

Tahasils of Ganjam District for "Construction of Chheligada Irrigation Project"and

Declaration under section 8(2) has been issued vide No. 34884 dated 08.10.2024 for

acquisition of private land of Ac. 40.773 in 14 villages as per the recommendations

of the Collector, Ganjam and appraisal of the Social Impact Assessment report

submitted by the Expert Group on 13.08.2023 and Notification under section 11(1)

of the Act in respect of the above schedule of land has not been issued till date;

And whereas, as per section 14 of the Act, where a preliminary notification under

section 11 is not issued within twelve months from the date of appraisal of the Social

Impact Assessment report submitted by the Expert Group under section 7, then,

such report shall be deemed to have lapsed and the first proviso to section 14

provides that the appropriate Government shall have the power to extend the period

of twelve months, if in its opinion circumstances exist justifying the same;

And whereas, Collector, Ganjam has requested with reasons to extend the period

of twelve months and the appropriate Government is of the opinion that

circumstances existed for the delay;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to section 14

of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition,

Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, the State Government do hereby decide

to extend the period of twelve months for issue of preliminary Notification U/s-11(1)

of the RFCTLAR&R Act, 2013 up to 12^th August 2025.
