S.R.O. No. 8/2025—In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 33 of the Odisha
Forest Act, 1972 (Odisha Act 14 of 1972), the State Government do hereby declare that the following
land situated in village Gohira under Jamda Tahasil of Mayurbhanj District mutated and transferred
in favour of Forest, Environment & Climate Change Dapartment for raising Compensatory
Afforestation thereon against the proposed diversion of 14.928 ha of forest land for construction of
Sono Barrage Project near village Jaida of Gopabandhu Nagar Tahasil of Mayurbhanj District,
Odisha within jurisdiction of Balasore (Wildlife) Division & Baripada Forest Division by the Executive
Engineer, Mayurbhanj Investigation Division, Udala vide 'in-principle' approval of Government of
India, MoEF&CC, ERO, Bhubaneswar communicated in Letter No. 5-ORC 307/2017-BHU, dated
the 4th August 2017 under Section 2 of the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980, the limits of which are
specified below and the area of which is 8.903 ha (22.000 Ac.) shall be a Protected Forest with
effect from the date of issue of the Notification and shall be known as "Gohira Protected Forest'' :—
