RESOLUTION

The 24th January 2025

SUBJECT —Transfer of the management and administrative control of the Odisha State Legal Service

Cadre from Home Department to Law Department.

In the Odisha State Legal Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service)Rules,

2016 published vide Notification No. 743, dated the 7th January 2017, the Home Department has

been designated as the Cadre Controlling Authority of the Odisha State Legal Service (OSLS)

Cadre. The said Rules has been framed to regulate the method of recruitment and conditions of

service of the persons appointed to the Odisha State Legal Service (OSLS) Cadre for smooth and

efficient management of litigations in alignment with the objectives of the State Litigation Policy.

The Law Department being the administrative authority of the State Litigation Policy, it would

be convenient for them for management of the affairs of the OSLS Cadre Officers and to deal with

all the litigation related issues of various Departments effectively.

After careful consideration, it has been decided by the Government that henceforward the

Odisha State Legal Service Cadre shall function under the administrative control of the Law

Department. Accordingly, the Odisha State Legal Service Cadre is transferred to the Law Department.

This will take effect from the date of issue of the Resolution.

ORDER—Ordered that this Resolution be published in the extraordinary issue of the Odisha

Gazette and copies thereof be forwarded to all Department of Government/all Heads of Departments/

Accountant General (A&E), Odisha/Secretary, Odisha Public Service Commission, Cuttack.
