3. The tenders in sealed covers superscribed with

the words “Tender for the purchase of old newspapers

and magazines on an annual basis from 1-7-2011 to

30-6-2012” should be addressed to the Secretary,

Legislative Assembly Secretariat, No. 5, Victor Simonel

Street, Puducherry-605 001, so as to reach him before

3.00 p.m. on; 22nd June 2011. The tenders will be opened

on the same day at 4.00 p.m. The tenderer who has

quoted the highest rate will be the successful bidder

for one year.

4. The intending tenderers should deposit an earnest

money of ` 1,000 (Rupees one thousand only) by way

of demand draft drawn in favour of the Secretary,

Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Puducherry and the

same should be enclosed with the tender. The earnest

money deposit of the unsuccessful bidders will be

refunded after finalising the tender and that those of

the successful bidders will be converted into security

deposit to be kept in Government account as per

procedure.

5. Further in the event of successful bidder failing

to pay the cost in full and lift the newspapers/magazines

at the agreed rate at their own expenses before the close

of fourth day counted from the date of receipt of

communication from this Secretariat, the security

deposit will be once and forever appropriated in favour

of the Government and the concerned individual will

lose the right of removal of the items for rest of the year

also. If the said fourth day happened to be a Government

holiday, the date will be extended till the next working

day on receipt of a specific request in writing from the

bidder.

6. It may be noted that the undersigned reserves

the right to reject any or all the tenders without

assigning any reason. Contravention of the rules of

tender notice will result in the forfeiture of the earnest

money deposit.

7. No claim about the quantity, quality and the value

of the said goods will be admitted once the tender is

finalised. The removal of items from this Secretariat shall

be only during working hours.

8. Sales tax will be collected as per rules.

end of the tender period.

10. The successful tenderer should make his own

arrangements to weigh the old newspapers and
