The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to make the

following rules further to amend the Appointment of Agents under

Standardised Agency System in the Union Territory of Puducherry

[PART–II

(1) Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be

called the Appointment of Agents under Standardised Agency System

in the Union territory of Puducherry (Amendment) Rules, 2012.

(2) They shall come into force on and from the date of their

publication in the official gazette.

2. Amendment of rule 7.— In the Appointment of Agents under

Standardised Agency System in the Union territory of Puducherry

Rules, 2004 (hereinafter referred as the principal rules) in rule 7, for

Note 2, the following shall be substituted, namely:–

“ Note 2 : The Fidelity Guarantee Policy shall be furnished by

the Agency in time falling which the Agency will stand

inoperative. The Fidelity Guarantee Policy to be furnished by

the Agency may be obtained by such Agency for a maximum

period of 3 years and it shall be kept renewed on the expiry of

its validity period”.

3. Amendment of rule 10.— In the principal rules, in rule 10,

for sub-rule (i), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:–

“(i) The Agency is valid for a period of three years and it

can be renewed on completion of this period for which the

Agency should apply for renewal to the Appointing Authority

as prescribed in Form-VII in advance i.e., 45 days prior to date

of expiry of the Agency period and in case the renewal is not

made before the date of expiry, no transaction shall be made after

the expiry date.”
