make the following amendments to the Puducherry Registration of Births

and Deaths Rules, 1999 notified vide G.O. Ms. No. 172/LAS/99-2000,

dated 29-12-1999 and published in Part-II of the Extraordinary Gazette

No. 53, dated 30th December 1999, namely:—

AMENDMENT

1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These rules may be called

as the Puducherry Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Rules, 2013.

(2) They shall come into force with immediate effect.

2. Amendment in Form No. 1-A under rule 5.— In the Puducherry

Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 1969, in Form No. 1-A

prescribed under sub-rule (1) of rule 5, for the existing column No. 14,

Religion of the adoptive Father:, the following shall be substituted,

namely:—

“14. Religion of the adoptive Father: (Tick the appropriate entry

below).

1. Hindu

2. Muslim

3. Christian

4. Any other religion (write name of the religion)”.
