NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the Pondicherry Women’s Commission was constituted

under the powers conferred by section 5 of the Pondicherry Women’s

Commission Act, 2001 (Act No. 2 of 2002) by G.O. Ms. No. 34/2004-

Wel.(SW-IV), dated 5-10-2004 of the Chief Secretariat (Welfare),

Puducherry and the said Commission's tenure of office was further

extended for three years beyond 4-10-2007 by G.O. Ms. No. 26/2007-

Wel.(SW-IV), dated 25th October, 2007 and the said Commission’s

tenure was thereafter lastly extended for a period of 3 years beyond

the extension of tenure of the said the Pondicherry Women’s

Commission was subject to the terms and conditions notified in the

G.O. Ms. No. 34/2004-Wel.(SW-IV), dated 5-10-2004 of the

Chief Secretariat (Welfare), Puducherry;

2. And whereas, in the G.O. Ms. No. 34/2004-Wel.(SW-IV),

dated 5-10-2004, the Members were allowed the sitting fees of

` 600 per day to each Member for which the Pondicherry Women's

Commission (Honorarium, Allowances and Conditions of Service of

Chairperson and Members and other Provisions) Rules, 2005 do

not contain any provision;

3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by

sub-section (4) of section 6 read with section 5 of the Pondicherry

Women's Commission Act, 2001 (Act No. 2 of 2002), the Lieutenant-

Governor, Puducherry has been pleased to direct that the Members

and Chairman of the Pondicherry Women's Commission shall be

eligible only to receive the honorarium and other allowances subject

to the terms and conditions of service as provided in the Pondicherry

Women’s Commission (Honorarium, Allowances and Conditions of

Service of Chairperson and Members and other Provisions)

Rules, 2005 and for this purpose the G.O. Ms. No. 34/2004-Wel.(SW-IV),

dated 5-10-2004 shall be amended as follows, namely:-

AMENDMENT

In the said G.O. Ms. No. 34/2004-Wel.(SW-IV), dated 5-10-2004,

in item III, in sub-item (i), the expression “The sitting fees shall

be at ` 600 per day to each Member” shall be omitted.

4. The other terms and conditions mentioned in the G.O. Ms.

No. 34/2004-Wel.(SW-IV), dated 5-10-2004 referred above shall remain

unaltered.

5. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department,

vide their U.O. No. l132/FD/F5/A2, dated 3-5-2013.
