invited for the purchase of the following old newspapers

(English and Tamil) belonging to the Office of the

Commercial Tax Officer, Karaikal.

The rate should be quoted per kilogram for the

2. The tenders in sealed cover superscribed with the

words “Tender for the purchase of old newspapers”

should be addressed to the Commercial Tax Officer,

Karaikal so as to reach this office on or before 3.00 p.m.

on 17-7-2013 and the tender will be opened on the same

day at 3.30 p.m. in the presence of tenderers. If the day

opening for tender happen to be a holiday for any

reason the tender will be opened by the same time on

the next working day.

3. Tenders received after the due date and time will

be rejected.

4. The interested tenderers should deposit an

earnest money deposit of ` 100 (Rupees one hundred

only) in cash along with tender. The earnest money

deposit of the unsuccessful tenderers will be refunded

after the tenders are opened and successful tender has

been selected.

5. The intending tenderers may inspect the said

articles during office hours on any working day with

the permission of the undersigned.

6. The undersigned reserves the right either to

accept or reject any or all tenders without assigning

any reason. Contravention of the rules of the tender

notice will result in the forfeiture of the earnest money

deposit.

7. The successful tenderer shall arrange to weigh the

old newspapers, pay the cost thereof along with the

applicable sales tax and remove the old newspapers

within 24 hours from the time of the tender sale is over.

8. On failure of the arrangement to remove the

old newspapers, the earnest money deposit paid will

be forfeited. Also for the old newspapers which has

been disposed off after the receipt of the payment. This

department will not be responsible for lose or shortage

or damage.

9. In case of any dispute, the decision of the

Commercial Tax Officer will be final.

TENDER NOTICE

Sealed cover tenders are invited for the purchase

above the minimum rates fixed by the Government and

evacuation of the unserviceable articles as listed in the

Annexures to this notification and stored in the

Government Tourist Home, Koilpathu.

Interested tenderers can see the articles during office

hours. Rates should be quoted as a whole item of

articles (furniture, steel, electrical appliances). Those

who wish to participate in the tender process should

send the sealed tender covers superscribed as “Tender

cover” to the Assistant Director, Tourism Department,

Karaikal on or before 1.00 p.m. on 18-7-2013 along with

another cover containing a demand draft drawn in

favour of the Assistant Director, Tourism Department,

Karaikal for ` 1,000 towards earnest money deposit and

superscribed as “Demand draft for earnest money

deposit”. Tenders without earnest money deposit will not

be accepted under any circumstances.

Tenders received after the date and time mentioned

above will not be accepted. The received tenders will be

opened at 4.00 p.m. on 18-7-2013 in the Government

Guest house (V.I.P. suite), in the presence of the

Assistant Engineer (Buildings), Public Works

Department, Karaikal and those of the tenderers who

available at that time.

The successful tenderer who quoted the highest rate

should remit the full amount within 24 hours and take

possession of the articles, if not, the earnest money

deposit will be remitted into Government account.

Appropriate VAT (5%) should be remitted

separately.

Any defects found on the articles after finalisation

of the tender will not be entertained. All rights are

vested with the undersigned to accept or reject or to

postpone the tender. The earnest money deposit of

the unsuccessful tenderers will be returned back to

them.

on 25-7-2013 between 2.00 and 3.00 p.m. Tenders will be

opened at 3.30 p.m. on the same day in the presence of

the tenderers who are present at that time.

4. The intending tenderers may inspect the items

in Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital and

Postgraduate Institute, Puducherry on the forenoon of

25-7-2013 during the working hours between 11.00 a.m.

and 12.00 noon with the permission of the officer

concerned.

5. Each tenderer should pay an amount of ` 5,000

(Rupees five thousand only) as earnest money

deposit by cash to participate in the tender. The

earnest money deposit will be refunded to the

unsuccessful tenderers only after finalisation of the

tender by the competent authority.

6. The successful tenderer should remove the said

item(s) every month by remitting the actual cost of each

item and sales tax applicable thereon at the quoted rate,
