(G.O. Ms. No. 9/FY, dated 3rd July 2013)
NOTIFICATION
Whereas, it was brought to notice from the Indian
Coast Guard reports and other Maritime Security
Agencies as well as the Ministry of External Affairs,
Government of India that fishing boats of Karaikal are
crossing International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and
venturing into Sri Lankan waters for fishing, in spite
of the warnings issued by the concerned Fisheries
Authorities;
2. And whereas, crossing of IMBL result in arrest
of the fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy and
thereafter upon the intervention of the Government
of India through diplomatic channels, the
apprehended fishermen with their trawlers were
released and to prevent the fishermen from indulging
in improper activities, the Indian Coast Guard had
already requested the Government Authorities
concerned to take stern action against offenders;
3. And whereas, it becomes obligatory for the
Government of Puducherry to prevent the incidence
of transgression of fishermen hailing from Union
Territory into Sri Lankan waters and to stop such
transgressions for ensuring the safety, security and
welfare of the fishermen, adequate steps are required
to be taken by the authority concerned in the Union
Territory;
4. Now, therefore, the Lieutenant-Governor,
Puducherry hereby directs that the competent
authorities under the Puducherry Marine Fishing
Regulation Act, 2008 (Act No. 6 of 2008) are hereby
empowered to impose the following penalties as
mentioned in the Table below on the fishermen who violates
the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).

TENDER NOTICE
Sealed tenders quoting the rate per kilogram/per
piece/per branch/per lot (excluding sales tax) are invited
for the sale of fallen trees due to Thane cyclone
belonging to the schools mentioned below under the
control of the Deputy Inspector of Schools, Zone-II,
Puducherry.
(1) Government Primary School, Gandhi Nagar
(2) Government Primary School, Meenatchipet
(3) Government Primary School,
Muthiraiyarpalayam.
(4) Government Primary School, Sokkanathanpet
(5) Government Primary School, Indira Nagar
2. Sealed tenders should be addressed to the
Deputy Inspector of Schools, Zone-II, Directorate of
School Education, Puducherry duly superscribing on the
envelope as “Tender for the fallen trees” and they
should reach this office on or before 30-7-2013 at 4.00 p.m.
The tenders will be opened at 4.15 p.m. on the same
day in the presence of the tenderers, if any.
3. The intending tenderers should deposit a sum of
` 1,000 (Rupees one thousand only) as earnest money
deposit to this office before submitting tender. The
tenders without earnest money deposit will be
summarily rejected.
4. The earnest money deposit of the unsuccessful
tenderers will be returned immediately after tender sale
is over/finalised, whereas, the earnest money deposit of
the successful tenderer will be returned after the work
is completed in all respects.
5. Tenders received after the due date and time will
not be entertained.
6. The successful tenderer should pay the entire
amount including sales tax as applicable under the rules
in force and clear the materials within a week time from
the school at his own cost/risk failing which the earnest
money deposit will be forfeited.
7. No claim about the quantity and quality of the
fallen trees mentioned in the Annexure will be admitted
once the tender is finalised.
8. Sales tax will be charged at 10%.
9. The intending tenderers can inspect the trees
during school times with the prior permission of the
concerned Headmaster.
10. The undersigned reserves the right to accept or
reject any tender in part or whole without assigning any
reason thereof.
11. In case of any dispute, the decision of the
undersigned will be the final.
12. The particulars of the fallen trees and the school
in which the trees are placed are given in the Annexure.
