ORDER

In compliance with the order of the Hon'ble High Court of Judicature

at Madras in W.P.No. 18082 of 2013, dated 11-7-2013, the Government of

Puducherry is pleased to constitute the District Level Purchase Committee and

State Level Empowered Committee with the following composition for

determining the value of the lands proposed to be acquired in Chalakkara,

Palloor and Pandakkal Revenue Villages of Mahe region for the formation of

NH-17 Thalassery-Mahe Bypass Road under the National Highways Act, 1956:

2. The District Level Purchase Committee shall arrive at the market value

of lands and compensation payable after holding negotiations with the land-

owners and forward recommendations with justification for the value arrived at

to the Empowered Committee for its approval. The Empowered Committee shall

consider and approve the land value proposed by the District Level Purchase

Committee after effecting modifications in the recommended price, if found

necessary.

3. It is further ordered that the abovesaid committees are constituted

for complying the directions of the High Court in the writ petition referred above

for the purpose of fixing value for the lands in Chalakkara, Palloor and Pandakkal

Revenue Villages of Mahe region proposed to be acquired for the formation of

NH-17 Thalassery-Mahe Bypass Road under the National Highways Act, 1956

only and shall not be applicable to any other land acquisition proceedings in

the Union territory of Puducherry.
