In pursuance of sub-rule (1) of rule 5 of the Central
Civil Services (Temporary Service) Rules, 1965 notice

TENDER-CUM-AUCTION NOTICE
Sealed tenders offering the rate per kilogram
exclusive of sales tax/VAT are invited for the sale of
old Tamil and English newspapers belonging to the
Directorate of Information Technology, Puducherry as
detailed below. The rate per kilogram for each item has
to be quoted separately.

2. The sealed tenders should be addressed to the
Director, Directorate of Information Technology,
No. 505, II Floor, Planning and Research Department
Complex, Saram, Puducherry-605 013 duly superscribed
on the envelope as “Tender for the purchase of old
newspapers (Tamil and English)” and should reach this
Directorate on or before 21-9-2013 at 12.00 noon.
The tenders will be opened on the same day at 3.00 p.m.
by the undersigned in the presence of the tenderers,
if any.
3. Based on the highest quotings on the sealed
tender, open auction will be conducted at 4.00 p.m.
on the same day, i.e., on 21-9-2013.
4. The intending tenderers should deposit an amount
of ` 500 (Rupees five hundred only) in this office
as earnest money deposit before submission of their
tenders.
5. The earnest money deposit of the unsuccessful
tenderers will be refunded on the same day as soon
as the tender sale is over.
6. Tenders received after the due date and time
prescribed will summarily be rejected.
7. The successful tenderer should pay the entire
quoted/bid amount as soon as the offer is accepted and
the old newspapers and journals are weighed. The old
newspapers and journals should be cleared within
24 hours from the time of weighing and the payment is
made therefor with the prior permission of the
undersigned. If the tenderer fails to clear the old
newspapers and the journals in the stipulated time, the
ground rent at ` 15 (Rupees fifteen only) per day will
be collected from the tenderer until they are cleared.
8. Sales tax/VAT will be collected as per rules in
force. The undersigned reserves the right to accept or
reject any bid or to postpone the auction without
assigning any reason thereof and in case of any dispute,
the decision of the auctioning authority will be final and
binding.
9. No claim about the quality and quantity of the old
newspapers/journals will be admitted once the tender
is finalised.
10. If the tender opening day happens to be a
public holiday, the same will be opened on the next
working day.
